My decision to buy the SD YD250for my wife all started when we had a conversation at breakfast about home baked bread. Apparently, one of our neighbors brought my wife a sandwich with bread that she had made with her YD250 bread machine.
Personally, I grew up in a household with an old Philips bread machine. My mother faithfully made bread around 3 days a week, in an area that we set aside in our garage. Unlike the SD YD250, the old Philips machine sounded like a B-29 taking off!
In addition to being loud, it took up alot of space, which are the two reasons it was banished to the garage. It seemed to me that it took FOREVER to make a loaf of bread, too. The wait was well worth it, as the old monster cranked out some outrageous bread!
Finally, my wife brought me a slice of our neighbor's home baked bread, and asked me if it reminded me of the bread I ate as i was growing up. I was thrilled to announce that the SD YD250 produced a product at least as good, if not better, than our old bread maker!

I actually decided to buy the YD250 after that first slice of our neighbor's bread, however, I wanted to surprise my wife. I called our neighbor, and asked her where she had bought the SDYD250. Apparently, she had shopped around a good bit, and had read the reviews on several models.
She finally bought it from Amazon.com, where she claims to have gotten an outrageously low price, and free shipping! I took her word for it, as she is a smart shopper and a gourmet cook. I ordered it from Amazon at 45.00 off the list price. I felt like it was a good time to buy the SD YD250, and that is one of the reasons I am writing this YD250 review!
The SD YD250 arrived in the promised time, and luckily my wife wasn't home, so I could surprise her. I had selected a spot on our kitchen counter, where I thought it would fit.
Well, my wife came home, and I made an excuse for her to go into the kitchen. I had tied a red and green bow around the YD250, in celebration of an early Christmas.
You should have heard the squeal of delight when my wife laid eyes on the SD YD250!
